Lighthouse at the top of the stamp inspired by the two lighthouses demolished in 2006. The expansions works of the Port d´Hercule in Mónaco at that time,  were the reason of the destruction.

Old but New - Uruguay 1895/1899

 
These stamps belong to the 1895/1899 Uruguay Definitives. (22 in total).
We can see the "Cathedral of Montevideo" on them. The south tower (left of the stamp) was a lighthouse until 1910 aprox.

We can see the Klava Lighthouse and in the back the Tynneskär Lighthouse, both located in Hönö (Sweden).

Lighthouse: On the ground we can see the remains of the complex of Kobba Klintar. It was a pilot station (the building at the right) and a fog signal (disapeared). Also a red pierlight established in the seventies is visible in the painting.
